emi shielding gaskets

emi-shielding-gaskets

DESCRIPTION: EMI gaskets retain the ability to seal gaps allowing electromagnetic interference in current EMI or RFI shielding. Ideally, an EMI gasket should be made of the same material as the parent EMI shielding. Gaskets are also used in the construction of EMI enclosures. Overall, EMI gaskets differ in material, shape and size but all serve the same purpose of absorbing the interference.

Common EMI gasket types include conductive foam, conductive yarn, fabric over foam, mesh, mixed media, silicone elastomer, and metal (finger stock or springfinger). Since there is not a single type of gasket that applies to every situation, knowledge of electrical and mechanical conditions is key. Some of these important considerations include type of compression set, environmental consequences, and shear forces. These factors influence EMI gasket effectiveness, performance and life span.

Our EMI shielding gaskets are used for products such as telecommunications equipment, defence equipment, computers, and automotive and medical electronics.
