Darcoid’s selection of products is the broadest offering in the industry for hydraulic and pneumatic sealing systems. Table 1 provides “General Application Guidelines” to help define possible differences between light, medium and heavy duty applications. The product profile in “EACH PRODUCT CATEGORY” show corresponding application duty recommendations for each profile.

It is not uncommon for the requirements of a sealing system to fall into multiple duty columns. When this situation occurs you should select the majority of your components from the lesser duty range. When selecting a wiper, focus on contamination section.


In selecting a sealing component you will evaluate the temperature, pressure and pressure spike variables of the application. With a wear ring, you will want to look at the temperature and side loading section. This does not preclude the need to consider such things as fluid being sealed and stroke speed.
