DESCRIPTION: PARKER 8500 SERIES U-RINGS are the same basic design as 8400 Series but with a flat sealing lip which is better for controlling contamination. The 8400 Series has a chamfered sealing lip which is thicker than the corresponding AN6226 Series. The 8500 Series is similar to the AN6226 Series and is interchangeable where the sizes correspond. Parker Packing 8500 Series are excellent low pressure U-Rings. The 8500 Series U-Ring is normally supplied in standard Parker Compound 4180, an 80 (A) durometer nitrile material. Compound 4180 performs effectively in the vast majority of applications. Other compounds — nitroxiles, fluorocarbons, ethylene propylene, etc. , are available to fulfill specialized requirements. They may however, require special tooling, and in most cases have greater tolerances than those indicated for the standard compound.
