Bob is an expert in supply chain management and developing people to be their very best. He acquired four companies and merged three of them to create Darcoid, a “small giant” in the critical seal business. Bob’s focus is realizing our vision of a business with a lasting legacy of innovating and collaborating for our customers and manufacturing partners delivering results with accountability, integrity, and respect.
Bob earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Accounting from California State University, Chico, and is a CPA, inactive status. He is a current member of the Parker Engineered Materials Group DAC and was its President for 10 years. He was a past member of the Bay Area Tech Source and a Speaker and Panelist, at the Council of Logistics Management Annual Conference. During his tenure at DHL Worldwide express, he was Chair of the ACCA International Trade Policy Committee. He was with DHL Express for 15 years, starting as Director of Audits and leaving as VP of Operations.
Bob grew up in Northern California, lives in Mill Valley, California with his wife Becky, and has two adult daughters. He is a lifetime member of the St. Ignatius Fathers Club, an active member of the Olympic Club, and a patron of three SF-based primary education schools for the children of the underserved residents of San Francisco. He enjoys golf, bicycling, hiking, skiing, and traveling to his mother’s native land Italy.
CEO OF DARCOID
President of Darcoid, Alex Loback ensures that we are successful and in alignment with our ambitions and core purpose. She celebrates 10 years with Darcoid and offers over 15 years of experience in business operations.
As president of Darcoid, she is responsible for setting a vision and making sure we are aligned and integrated with our partners' missions. Alex is responsible for clearing the path for each contributor to help accomplish their goals, driving the company’s success. She offers expertise in people development and crisis management.
In 2009, Alex earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics at Boston College. Alex is currently enrolled in Harvard Business School, Owner President Manager Executive Education Program, 2021 - 2023
Alex previously worked at CrestTec for their first 5 years. She oversaw the day-to-day management of procurement and operations. With her there, CrestTec was able to optimize processes and create change for company growth, success, and continuous improvement.
In Alex’s free time, she enjoys painting, hiking, and live music. Alex was a dedicated volunteer leader for the Entrepreneurs Organization of San Francisco. For two and a half years, she held the position of Learning Chair

Becky’s background is in finance. She spent time on Wall Street as a salesperson of debt instruments to “institutional accounts” including the State Treasury Departments or Washington, Oregon, and California, Corporate Treasury operations, including ARCO, and Disney, and Fund Managers including Frankin Funds, Trust Company of the West, and Western Asset Managers. She transitioned to become a portfolio manager of asset and liability monies for a privately held bay area insurance company,
Her finance background enables her to be a valuable member of the Darcoid Advisory Board.
She earned her undergraduate degree in Economics and Business at UC Santa Barbara and has completed graduate work in Business Administration.
Becky grew up in Southern California, is a beach girl at heart, and lives with her husband Bob, in Mill Valley, California. Becky and Bob are the parents of two adult daughters. She is a Past President of the Marin Chapter of the National Charity League, is active in the Outdoor Art Club, and an active member of the Olympic Club, and along with Bob, a patron of three SF-based primary education schools for the children of the underserved residents of San Francisco. She enjoys cycling, hiking, golf, cooking, and entertaining, as well as travel, especially when it involves a bicycle
DIRECTOR AND CO-OWNER OF DARCOID
Nand Patel joined Darcoid over 19 years ago and offers 26 years of experience in quality, materials, engineering, and product development. As Director of Business and Product Development, Nand is responsible for discovering new business opportunities, finding new-to-market products, and capabilities and understanding customer needs.
Nand has led the quality department at Darcoid for 17 years, guaranteeing high-quality products. He built the Zero Defect Quality System to ensure Darcoid was aligned with Customer's Quality requirements and manufacturing partners. A system that is efficiently designed for continuous process improvements and quality audits to drive quality upstream. Nand continues to mentor, lead, and train the quality department.
Nand is also a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Darcoid. As a member of this team, Nand helps strategize the company’s future by understanding different divisions. Nand offers his expertise in filtration, life sciences, the medical field, material recommendations, design help, and new product development.
Studying in India, Nand earned his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with applied Polymer Science. He later earned his Master’s degree at the University of Toledo. In his free time, Nand enjoys watching football, basketball, baseball, and cricket.
Nand is proud to have established and developed trusting relationships with customers and manufacturing partners. DIRECTOR OF NEW BUSINESS AND PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Brian is Darcoid’s Director of Finance and Critical Resources. He has financial oversight over the business, including all accounting and financial responsibilities. In his role, he is in charge of business financing, budgeting and forecasting. Other responsibilities also include human resources, benefits, insurance, and IT.
Brian enjoys talking to people, and spends a lot of time working on big projects such as automation and software implementations with third-party technology partners, and. He led the transformation of the accounting processes by overhauling its previous function and digitizing it into its current state. Over the past 10 years, he has helped the team and different departments find ways to improve the way they do their jobs in both effectiveness and efficiencies. This is due in part to his great understanding of how a business runs from both a financial standpoint and the function of a business.
Brian joined Darcoid in 2012 and has 17 years total of experience in accounting. Prior to his role at Darcoid, Brian worked in public accounting and also spent time working in finance for tech start-ups.
Brian earned a degree in Business Economics from UC Santa Barbara. During his free time, Brian enjoys swimming and spending time with his family, wife and kids. When given the chance, he also loves traveling to Hawaii and Italy. Brian is a huge baseball and basketball fan – Golden State Warriors and San Francisco Giants to be exact.
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND CRITICAL RESOURCES
Patrick has been with Darcoid for 12 years, holding various roles in Leadership, Supply Chain and Logistics, Customer Fulfillment, Program Management, and Technology, and also serving on Darcoid’s Leadership Team for 5 years. As Director of Operations and Process Innovation, his focus is on identifying and implementing technologies to provide innovative services to customers, benchmarking and developing processes internally and externally, and improving the physical flow of goods through Darcoid’s international network.
Patrick has an in-depth knowledge of the processes, tools, and data that drive Darcoid, both through the management and processing of physical goods as well as information shared between Darcoid, customers, and manufacturing partners. He has also worked extensively, often on site, with customers and suppliers to cultivate partnerships to customize and align programs to better serve one another. His vision to provide service so smooth and seamless that it’s invisible to customers is based on the belief that Darcoid can be a customer’s best supplier, regardless of the product supplied.

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS AND PROCESS INNOVATION
Bill has been with Darcoid for over 10 years and offers more than 28 years of experience in the industry. As Senior VP of Business Development at Darcoid, Bill strategic relationships and initiatives, connecting technologies to factories and to customers in Europe, North America, and Asia. He is responsible for setting and implementing Darcoid’s vision for achieving growth goals. He leads the effort to launch and serve as co-host of the new and exciting podcast, “Makers of our Future”.
Bill’s in-depth knowledge of the seal industry is extensive, from technology and manufacturing quality assurance through fulfillment operations and end-user installation. His market expertise ranges from aerospace, mobility hydraulics, sustainable energy, life sciences, and electric mobility, to general industrial
applications.
Bill has past experience working in Business Development with Parker Engineered Materials Group. He also has experience working in Sales and Business Development in seal distribution, focusing on semiconductor capital equipment and life science markets. Bill earned a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies at NDNU. In his personal time, Bill enjoys biking, hiking with his family, spending time with his two dogs, and thoroughly ignoring his two cats.
