Quality Engineer
Do you have an eye for detail, a passion for problem-solving, and a drive to make things right the first time? You will be responsible for leading quality systems and ensuring the parts our customers receive meet the standards they expect, every time.
Monitor in-process and final inspection activities to ensure conformance to specifications, track quality events, record inspections, and manage quality data analytics and identify opportunities for improvement.
Conduct internal and supplier audits per ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards and maintain compliance through External and Customer Audits to these standards and follow up on corrective actions.
Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS). Ensure procedures, manuals, and records are up to date and aligned with IATF/ISO requirements and customer-specific standards, standard operating procedures, inspection instructions, and work instructions.
Investigate customer quality issues and formulate responses using RCA (Root Cause Analysis) methodologies including 8D, CAPA, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa diagrams.
Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to proactively identify and mitigate potential process failures. Manage Non-Conforming Product, by identifying, segregating, and documenting non-conforming materials, initiate containment actions, and conduct MRB reviews.
Prepare and review Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions through compiling and approving PPAP documentation (FMEA, Control Plan, and MSA). Use advanced quality planning techniques such as APQP to establish quality criteria for new product introduction and process development.
Monitor initial qualification and requalification activities when there are major process or material changes, ensuring continued conformity. Train personnel on quality standards, tools, and procedures, including ISO and IATF requirements.
Support external audits and certification compliance by preparing for and supporting third-party or customer audits, and close any audit non-conformances.
Using Computer-Aided Design software to review technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications. Analyze engineering specifications and technical drawings to ensure product design aligns with quality standards and customer requirements.
Use experience gained in a manufacturing environment with a focus on continuous improvement and problem solving to make recommendations.
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Automotive Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on continuous improvement and problem solving
2 years of experience investigating customer quality issues and formulating responses using 8D, CAPA, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa diagrams
2 years of experience conducting PFMEA to identify and mitigate potential process failures
2 years of experience performing supplier audits in compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards and maintaining compliance through External and Customer Audits to these standards
2 years of experience using Computer-Aided Design software to review technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
Up to 15% domestic and international travel.
