Problem solved Fulfillment

The Situation

Innovative medical device design team had specified a complex micro-molded bellow but were unable to find a supplier who could scale from prototype to production volume. Further, the TPE material prototype was unable to meet the application temperature requirements.

The Ask

Reverse engineer the bellow, propose an alternate material, and provide qualification samples in less than 4 weeks.

The Solution

Darcoid QA was able to define critical off print seal dimensions.  We identified USP Class VI LSR material as most suitable for the application.  Production control prints were created, and new prototypes shipped – all inside of 4 weeks.

The Success

Our customer evaluated and approved prototypes and launched production scale tooling. Ongoing predictable seal performance is assured regardless of influences inside and outside the supply chain by deploying Darcoid’s Seal Performance Creep controls.

The Darcoid / Customer partnership continues to solve additional problems on this exciting new medical device
